March-a-Thon is Friday, March 19th 2010*

The March-a-Thon is one of our top fund-raisers for the year. It is coordinated with Teach School so all kids on campus get to participate.

Our 2010 March-a-thon will take place on Friday, March 19! Pledge envelopes will be sent home with your student on Monday, March 8, and should be returned with all pledges to your child's teacher no later than Wednesday, March 24, for gift certificate and party credit! All students are encouraged to participate in this fun and energizing event.

An outline of the prizes available are as follows:

  • For every $50 in pledges collected, students receive a $5.00 gift card to Jamba Juice or Tom's Toys.
  • Every class that has 100% participation (at least a small amount of money is brought in by each student) will receive an Ice Cream Party.
  • The class from Bishop's Peak and Teach with the most money raised per student will win a pizza party.
  • The boy and girl from each class at Bishop's Peak and Teach who run the most laps will receive an engraved medal at the post March-a-thon assembly.
  • The two students (one from Bishop's Peak and one from Teach) who bring in the most money will be "Principal for the Day".
  • The boy and girl from either Bishop's Peak or Teach who run the most laps will have his/her name displayed on the March-a-thon banner, which is hung on the wall of the multi-purpose room and is added to each year.

Parents are encouraged to join us for this exciting event! The Custom House (in conjunction with Marcy and John Rourke) has graciously offered to provide us once again with a hot dog lunch, including chips and a drink for just $3.00. All proceeds from the lunch will directly benefit Bishop's Peak. Families may also bring a lunch of their own if they wish, a picnic blanket, and join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of our students and enjoy the company of our fellow families.

Watch for a March-a-thon classroom walking schedule, which will be sent home with your child the day before the event, so you can be there to cheer your child on!

And lastly, anyone wishing to give our kids a little extra energy and donate fruit the morning of the March-a-thon is encouraged to do so. Orange and apple slices, bananas, grapes, strawberries, and pineapple can be dropped off at the snack table (washed and ready to serve), and will be most appreciated by our budding athletes.
