Scholastic Book Fair

Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair planning is underway and scheduled for Monday, November 2nd through Friday, November 6th.  

The "Fair" is only made  possible with the help and involvement of the parents.   During the first week of school, there were volunteer sign up sheets that were sent home for parents to sign and volunteer for the many events that Bishop's Peak hosts to benefit our children.  The moneys earned at these events, go towards field day and school trips which the children look forward to going on.  Without these fund raisers, none of the events would be possible.

In the next week, I will have been given a sheet with names of all of you wonderful folks who have volunteered to help with the Book Fair.   I should be contacting you either by telephone or e mail, or perhaps both, to see in what capacity you will be able to assist.   At this time, I also need a few people to help with the following:

  • Chairperson for Advertising - Hanging some posters and signs advertising the Book Fair.
  • Chairperson for Volunteers -  Coordinating a list of volunteers for the days and times they will be able to work the Fair
  • Chairperson for Finance - Recording on the printed log sheet the total  amount of cash and checks received each day
  • Chairperson for Set up and Break down - This is approximately a 4 person job.   We will set up on October 29th.  The books are removed from the boxes and placed on tables for display and on November 9th whatever is not sold is packed up. I will be there to help with all of this.
